Ultrasonic Manufacturer:

A customer that manufactures ultrasonic parts had a particular job that needed specialized masking and anodizing in order to meet specifications.

Challenge:

Alpha was tasked with solving the problem which required a difficult masking process in order to meet the specified outcome. Because the part had already been reworked multiple times the goal of keeping a cosmetic appearance and dimensional tolerance was of particular concern. 

Action:

In this particular case Alpha reversed the normal process of masking. Our team anodized the entire part, masked off the anodized area to remain anodized (critical area) and then stripped off all the remaining anodic coating. An extra step in the process was also created in order to maintain the cosmetic appearance of the customer’s part.

Result:

The outcome of the process was a success and the customer was very pleased with the cosmetic appearance and dimensional tolerance.
